Multi-Cultural Ministry

 

Zion's HistoryZion was founded by immigrants from Sweden. As the neighhborhood around Zion changed in the 1980's, Zion began intentinal outreach to the Laotian community. They held Sunday afternoon fellowship for spanish speaking people in the 1990's. 


Around the TableOn the first Sunday of the month, at noon, an intergeneration and multicultural group gathers in the youth room for a simple meal and conversation to build cultural competance across lines of race and ethnicity.  


Taste of Zion - Every May, this ethnic gathering celebrate the diversity of food from the African-American, Swedish, Mexican, and Asia cultures. 

 

Cultural Celebration - In February of each year, we gather to celebrate varioius cultural groups in the church community. In 2019, we gathered to celebrate the "year of the woman" and had various speakers participate.
